En we hebben weer een mooie opwarmer voor de nu naderbij razende presentatie van Marcel Croks “De staat van het klimaat – koele blik op een verhit debat”. Dit keer een kritisch rapport van de wiskundige en ingenieur Dr. David Evans, die voorheen werkzaam was voor het Australische Ministerie van Klimaat (ja zo gek zijn ze daar).
Het rapport focust op de voor jan-en-alleman gemakkelijk te begrijpen Archilleshiel van het klimaatverhaal: het onbetwistbare stuitende gesjoemel met temperatuurmetingen en datasets. Hieronder de hoofdconclusies die antwoord geven op de vraag of de Westerse klimaatwetenschap nu wel of geen bedrog pleegt.
The Western Climate Establishment is Cheating
- Official thermometers are overwhelmingly in warm localities such as near air conditioner exhaust vents, buildings, concrete, tarmac, or asphalt.
- Officials hide the modern Argo data, which shows the world’s oceans are cooling.
- They ignore hundreds of thousands of weather balloon results that show the climate models overestimate future warming by at least 300%.
- Climate scientists frequently point to the last 130 years of global warming, but don’t mention the full story: the planet started warming before 1700, over a century before humans started pumping out meaningful amounts of CO2.
- Leading authors publish a crucial graph with a deceptive colour scheme that imitates the results they wish they’d got. Why did a leading peer-reviewed climate journal publish such a naked and childish attempt at cheating?
- Their adjustments blatantly transform the original raw data from thermometers into rising trends. And they selectively ignore thousands of other thermometers where there is less warming.
- The Russian, Chinese and Indian climate establishments, which are financially independent of the western climate establishment, are all skeptical. As are many scientists from other branches of science, as well as many retired climate scientists (who no longer have anything to lose by speaking their minds).
De vraag blijft: waarom hebben klimaatwetenschappers nooit de betrouwbaarheid van de meetreeksen nagetrokken.
Dat lijkt mij toch een vereiste voordat je die gaat interpreteren.

"The Western Climate Establishment" is nogal een vaag begrip. Misschien behoor ik daar dan ook wel toe. :P

Ik ga naar de Eike conferentie in Berlijn tijdens Cancun, maar ik denk dat ik dan toch maar het vliegtuig neem!

Ik zou met het vliegtuig gaan. Ik ken die trein, die van Schiphol Airport naar Berlin Ostbahnhof rijdt…kost je veel te veel tijd als je de hele rit wilt uitzitten. De zgn. Bordbistro met Weizenbier is daarentegen wel weer aardig ;-).
Ik erger me ook aan dat ideologische gedram van die Grünen en de doodlopende Öko-Ideologie, waar je in de Bundesrepublik bijna over struikelt.
De daarbij horende indoctrinatie begint al op de kleuterschool, waar de juf met de kleuters over opwarming van de aarde praat en wat ze daaraan thuis kunnen doen (ik kan me nog de radio reportage herinneren, en de kleuter die met wat moeite opzei wat ze van de juf had geleerd: het gebruik van spaarlampen thuis).
No democracy in the Netherlands. The fraud continues.

There is a saying: If a politician gives you a handshake, be sure to count your fingers afterwards to be sure you still have all of them.
The same minister announced not so long ago to stop the CO2 storage test under the city of Barendrecht. Reasons were costs and public support. Now he is saying something 180 degrees opposite.
An argument against the storage of CO2 under ground is costs. It costs energy that is being thrown away. To store CO2 that is produced by 4 plants, you need an extra plant to store it (source: interview with Salle Kronenberg, http://climategate.nl/?s=kroonenberg).
As a side note: CO2 is high concentrations is not totally harmless , as the Lake Nyos disaster illustrates (see Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Nyos). Lake Nyos lies in the North-West of Cameroon. It is a deep lake above a volcano. In 1986, possibly triggered by a land slide, a cloud of CO2 escaped, killing 1700 people. The deeper layers of water are highly saturated with CO2. The landslide could have caused the mixing of the deeper layers with upper layers of water, where the lower pressure caused a CO2 cloud to “escape” from the lake. The cloud travelled over the ground (CO2 is heavier than air) and remained dangerous for about 20 km.
